Do you like quilting, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, sewing cat toys, or making fleece scarves? If you do, you have something in common with our sisters in Christ on Chene St. Nearly every Wednesday this school year, Leigh Helvie and Mary Score hope to continue making trips to Peacemakers to spend a couple hours crafting and making and deepening relationships with ladies living in the Mercy House and also in the community. Thus far, quilts and crocheted items have been made for use in the program residences, a baby blanket was sent to a pregnancy counseling program in Kentucky, a prototype catnip mouse (using catnip from Peacemaker gardens) was made, and 11 River Rat scarves were completed. In the coming year, the ladies hope to make many items which can be sold in the soon to be opened Peacemakers resale store in order to make a contribution to their living expenses in the program, and to the outreach efforts of the ministry as a whole. Please call Mary at if you would like to get involved at any level, large or small.
