Adult Bible Communities
Our fall season of Adult Bible Communities, (ABC’s) are team led, community focused, and Bible based. We have two ABC’s each hour, opposite the worship service times. At the 9:30am hour we feature the UFormation (room 216A - for college students), the Journey (room 216B) and Foundations (room 217). The Journey focuses on listening prayer and spiritual growth. Foundations applies scripture to everyday living. At the 11:00am hour we have the Word (room 216B) and Bridges (room 217). The Word focuses on a book by book study of the Bible. Bridges helps Internationals bridge Christian understanding.
Christmas Message Series
When you think about Jesus, what words pop out of your brain? You might think about words like Savior, Redeemer, and King. But what about the word “Incarnation”? It means to become flesh or to become human. During our message series in December, “Flesh and Blood”, we will discover together what this means in our lives so that our Christmas celebration will be truly joyous. Pick up your participant guide/devotional at the Welcome Center.
Upcoming Holiday Schedule
On December 20th and 27th, we will be following our one service format. We’ll have one worship service at 11:00 am with Children’s Ministry for children ages Kindergarten and younger. There will be no 9:30 am programming.
Our Christmas Eve service will be at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary. On January 3rd, we will return to our two service format.
Financial Peace University
A life changing course in financial management taught by Radio and TV personal finance advisor Dave Ramsey via DVD. The mission of Financial Peace University is to empower and give HOPE to everyone from the financially secure to the financially distressed. This is a 13 week, 91 day course that will be offered Wednesday nights at Huron Hills starting January 13th at 7:00 pm and coordinated by Dave Collins. Class cost per family unit is $93, but we have full and partial scholarships available for anyone who needs them. Childcare will be provided. Each class will run for 1 hr. 45 minutes. Because Dave's radio program is widely heard in South East Michigan, this will be an easy invite for family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Volunteers Needed
With the recent cold temperatures we are harshly reminded that winter is upon us. Your Properties Ministry Team is looking for volunteers to take a weekend this winter to be responsible to remove snow from the walks around the church and the Lodge and to keep the areas near the doors clear of ice during the Sunday morning activities. This is a Saturday/Sunday AM only responsibility. We have great equipment and will train you to use it. This could perhaps be a family event or parent/child activity. Children’s Ministry Opportunity
We thank God for the provision of teachers for the Children's Ministry this quarter. There is still opportunity to serve once a month as a special-needs assistant. Your help enables the mom of a special-needs child to attend church. Training is available. If you are interested please contact Margaret Gaugler or Debbie Williams.
Huron Hills Severe Weather Policy:
Will Huron Hills Worship Services Happen on Severe Weather Sundays?
If we have severe weather on a Sunday morning, one of two scenarios will happen:
- 1) Conditions will be so severe that all services & programs will be cancelled
- 2) Conditions will be bad, but not severe enough to cancel all services and programs
- ~We will cancel the 9:30am worship service and all 9:30am programming
- ~We will only hold an 11:00am worship service with limited children’s ministry (K and younger)
When will Sunday morning cancellation decisions be made?
Decisions will be posted by 7:00am on Sunday morning.

What about severe weather events that happen on other days of the week?
Children’s and Youth ministry events are cancelled any day the Ann Arbor Schools are cancelled due to weather. In the event of severe weather developing during the day, programs (services, children’s, youth, college) will be cancelled by 4:00pm. Information will be available through the website, church voicemail, and email. Youth event cancellation will also be notified via the youth group texting service. College students will be notified via the College Pastor.
What do I do if there is bad weather and I’m not sure I can make it in even though there are Worship Services or events?
Make the decision you feel safe with! Not everyone will have the same comfort level or local conditions. First and foremost we want you to be safe. If you have a leadership or volunteer role and cannot make it to church, please call the team leader or coordinator to let them know you will not be able to serve.
