Some things you may want to know about Huron Hills……
What kind of church are you?
We are a church that is centered on the love and mission of Jesus Christ. Through a blend of classic and contemporary worship styles, we provide a spiritual community for all ages, including young families, youth, and those connected with the university world. Our engagement with the Ann Arbor community includes a growing university ministry, an active youth group, and a missions minded servant attitude towards our world. We are affiliated with the Baptist General Conference.
What is your church all about?
We want to see people connect with God. Whether you are just beginning your spiritual journey, or well on your way, we are committed to caring for you with the love of Jesus Christ. In our community you can experience the grace of God despite the realities of hurt and brokenness in the world. Through small groups, spiritual formation classes, and relationships with others, we want to understand how to live out the truths of the Bible in our present life circumstances. Our mission is to draw those who are far from God into a close and living relationship with Jesus Christ.
How do I get involved? Where can I volunteer? Is there anything I can do?
We want to be a church that is easy for you to connect with. The best way to step into the community beyond our worship services is to try out a spiritual formation class or visit a small group. “First Serve” events give you a one—time opportunity to connect with our ministry teams. Service opportunities for youth, university students, and adults include:
--providing shelter for homeless families through Alpha House
--feeding needy people at a soup kitchen
--working in inner-city Detroit with Peacemakers, one of our partner ministries.
Information and sign up materials are available at our Welcome Center, from our website (www.huronhills.org) or by emailing connections@huronhills.org.
What do you have for my child? (preschool to fifth grade)
We love kids, and our children’s ministry is full of people who love children! Our programming includes Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and special events around holidays. We want your children to experience the gracious love of Jesus Christ. You can connect with our Children’s Ministry Team on the first level of our building at the Children’s Welcome Center or by emailing mgaugler@huronhills.org
What do you have for youth? (6th-12th grade)
We know youth need a special focus. Middle School and High School student can step into our youth ministry through Wednesday night and Sunday night weekly programs. Special weekend events like retreats and service ministry opportunities build connections and engagement. Sunday nights feature our High School large group ministry. Check out our program at http://www.youth-gotfaith.org or by emailing our youth minister Chris at chris.peltz@gmail.com
How should I dress?
Please wear clothes that make you feel most comfortable. Most people at our church wear "business casual." You will see people in suits as well as jeans.
What can I expect when I come for the first time?
You can expect to meet people, just like you, who are trying to understand who God is and explore His plan for their lives. While we hope you meet new and old friends, we will not ask you to introduce yourself and stand up alone in the service.
Where do I park?
Our upper parking lot in front of the church building adjoins the main entrance for our worship services. If this is full, there is a secondary lot at the lower level in the back.
How can I learn more about Huron Hills?
In our lobby you will find a Welcome Center, which is staffed with people eager to help you.
You can also talk to anyone in the service or contact us. The best way to learn about us is to "get off the bench and into the game!" See for yourself what we do! We'd love to help you find a small group that meets during the week or an adult Sunday school class to "go deeper" into the Bible and develop friendships.
