Weekly Update Nov 9, 2017

Prayer Focus
Let us pray together for all whose lives have been affected by accident, natural disaster or a deliberate act of terror. May comfort and peace abound in the face of brokenness and fear.
Psalm 34:18—The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 91:1,2—Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Welcome to Alpha! Join us for Week 3!
A 6-week, dinner-included, Wednesday night series at 6:00pm. This will give you a taste of the world-renowned Alpha course. Wherever you're at in your spiritual life, it is a great series to experience.

Exploring? Alpha will help you think deeply about questions you may have.
Newer Christian?  Alpha will help solidify you in your faith as you go deeper.
Long-time Christian?
Alpha will help you engage with your faith well as you also think about how to engage with those far from God, potentially even using Alpha in the future yourself.

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. It helps us think about how to thoughtfully engage together. Alpha is all around the globe, and everyone is welcome.

Welcome to Alpha at Huron Hills Church
Wednesdays at 6pm w/Dinner through December 13
(skipping Thanksgiving week).
Room 216A/B

All Church Work Day
November 11, 8:30am–12pm
Bring rakes, tarps, wheelbarrows, and even chainsaws to help get our campus ready for winter! We'll mostly focus on leaf removal, but there's some brush that needs to go as well! It's a great day when all ages can connect and serve together. Bring your family, small group, neighbors, get outside and enjoy some coffee and donuts too!

Board Connection
Thank you to everyone who participated in the budget formation process! We appreciate all the input we received, and all the members who voted. The budget passed with a vote of 82-1. Please continue to pray that our church will be fiscally responsible, and that we will be using the gifts we receive to fulfill God's mission.
