Let's join together in prayer for our neighbors. Whether you live in an apartment, a subdivision, or on the farm, pray for those in the neighborhood where you come and go for shelter. And pray for those who are in temporary housing and are living in shelters, alleys or on the streets. How can we be good neighbors?
"Jesus, help us to love our neighbors. In this season of reflection and repentance, help us to let go of bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead help us to be kind to all people, tenderhearted, forgiving each other just as God through Christ has forgiven us. Help us as a church family to draw closer to God, Father, and Jesus our Lord, through loving each other. Holy Spirit, heal our broken relationships." Amen
1 John 4: 7–11: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Annual Meeting & Chili Lunch (February 26, 12–2:30pm)
Join us this Sunday for a Chili Luncheon in Fellowship Hall and then we'll gather in the Sanctuary to elect new officers, reflect on the 2016 ministry year, hear updates from ministry areas, pray together, and look forward to the 2017 and beyond. Childcare provided!
The Broken Way (Spring All Church Focus): Starts 3.4-5.2017
Grace wastes nothing. Our lives are the raw material the Spirit uses to make us who God calls us to be. We'll read Ann Voskamp's The Broken Way: a daring path into the abundant life. (This book will challenge us with its honesty to open ourselves and be vulnerable about our brokenness.) For 6 weeks, we will learn how God works in and through our brokenness to heal, redeem, and rescue us. Books, study guides and home group DVD's are now available in the lobby. Home Group leaders can pick up books and study guides and 1 DVD. Sunday messages will be coordinated with the scripture texts used in the study guide.
Ash Wednesday: 3.1.2017 @7pm
Let's walk the broken way together! We will confess our limits, failures, and deep need for God. We will gather around the ancient practices of prayerful reflection, personal and communal repentance, and the symbolic marking of ashes on our foreheads. Bring your family, friends and home group to this significant time of worship together.
Saturday Worship Gathering Launch: 3.4.2017 @5:30pm
Join us as we create another worship option at Huron Hills! Saturday gatherings will be participatory and interactive. Every week will have time for prayer, quiet reflection, and Holy Communion. The teaching will be same as Sundays. Children will be included in the gathering. (HH Kids is Sunday only.)
Staff Searches Update
Get excited! We now have candidates in the pipeline! These past months MinisterSearch has been laying the groundwork for candidates with cold calls, recruiting, email blasts and job board postings. Thousands of leads have been reviewed and now it's time for us to start our part of the process. Two Advisory Search Teams have been recruited by the board: one for Youth Pastor, the other for Associate Pastor. These teams will assist Pastor Nathan in reviewing candidates for his recommendation to the board, give prayer covering, wise counsel, and coordinating nominee/candidate visits and the arrival of new staff.
Please pray for these advisory search teams:
Youth Pastor Advisory Search Team
Michael Hoffman, Nathan Clair, Cathy Galura, Kurtis Rosen, Chris Cristian, Anna Mason, Marcy Hires
Associate Pastor Advisory Search Team
Nathan Clair, Gary Court, Dave Baldrige, Eric Svaan, Julie Esch, Melodie Marske
This Sunday, February 26, is our annual meeting and election! Although only members can vote in the election, we encourage everyone to attend to hear updates from various ministry areas and celebrate what’s happening in our church. We are gathering in the Fellowship Hall to enjoy a chili lunch after second service before moving to the sanctuary for updates. See you there!
HuronHills.org has gotten a facelift! What's new? Clearer ways of getting around, and learning where you fit at our church. This site better conveys the many pathways through which God is moving at Huron Hills! As always, you can find information about classes, meeting times, and a link to give online. We're still in the process up finalizing and updating information, so please "pardon our dust" over the coming weeks as we work to get everything entered properly.
The name Shiloh means "place of peace." For women experiencing the pain of infertility or loss, nothing may be more needed than peace, rest, support, and understanding. Join us on the first Wednesday of each month, beginning March 1 (after the Ash Wednesday gathering) in Room 117 on the lower level. The lower level doors will be unlocked, and you will be greeted with tea, snacks, and a place of peace. email@example.com
Serve Our City 2017 (May 6, Projects Start at 12:30pm. Celebration Cookout 5pm)
Do you want to make a difference? Do you want to connect with our mission? Let's bless our community! Join us as we do a ministry experiment at Huron Hills! This year we will suspend the Annual Garage Sale, and connect with our community in a different and powerful way. We're assembling teams of people from Huron Hills for a day of service projects at 4 different sites: Mitchell Elementary, C.A.N. Green-Baxter Court, Huron High School, and our own HH Kids entrance area. Clean up, beautification, prayer walks, collaboration and connection with Green-Baxter residents, and other improvements will communicate in practical ways a love for our city, people far from God, and help continue our practice of training in servant leadership our HH Youth Mexico Team! As the day ends, our church family will gather for a celebration cookout at 5pm! More info coming soon!

Snow Patrol Volunteers Needed
Your HHC Properties Ministry Team is looking for volunteers to take a weekend this winter to be responsible to remove snow from the walks around the church and the Lodge and to keep the areas near the doors clear of ice during the Sunday morning activities. This is a Saturday/Sunday AM only responsibility. We have great equipment and will train you to use it. This could perhaps be a Fellowship Group or parent/child activity. Be a part of the Snow Removal Team at Huron Hills! If you are willing to volunteer for an upcoming weekend this winter, please email Brad Davis at firstname.lastname@example.org
From the Board Chair
We are in the midst of a search for a Youth Pastor and an Associate Pastor (responsible for managing and implementing pathways into our mission, ministry, and membership). Both positions will center on people who are far from God and helping them develop a close and living relationship with Jesus Christ. And, for those who know and trust Christ, to help them grow in faith and service. Paul writes in Romans 12 that we are to be “constant in prayer” and we need to be praying that the Lord will bring His people to Huron Hills to serve in these two roles. John Collman reminded us during the Lead Pastor search that we should call the Search Team the “Find Team” for God had someone in mind and our posture should be to pray for that person to be “found”. Let us continue to pray in faith and confidence that the Lord will direct our “search”.
Huron Hills is a highly caffeinated church, and serving coffee on Sunday mornings is one way we extend a welcome to all. The coffee prep team is in need of additional volunteers. To serve, contact Jane Talbot at email@example.com.

February in HHKids Elementary
Our theme this month is LOVE: because we are created in God’s image, we have the capacity to love. Every time we choose to treat others the way we want to be treated, we show others a glimpse into the perfect love God has for each one of us. Our memory verse is John 4:10, "Here is what love is. It is not that we loved God. It is that he loved us and sent his Son to give his life to pay for our sins."
February in First Look
This month, our preschoolers will be learning that Jesus’ love is SO BIG! Jesus loves them with a love that is bigger than they can imagine! Our memory verse is Ephesians 3:18 - “How wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”
