May the people of Huron Hills, in the midst of chaos, confusion, and terror in the world strive for peace in our homes, our neighborhoods and in our hearts.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
"O Lord, awaken the consciousness of all people's and their leaders; raise up men and women full of love and generosity who can speak and act for peace, and show us new ways in which hatred can be left behind, wounds can be healed, and unity can be restored."
~Henri Nouwen (A Cry for Mercy)

From the Board Chair
Carole Metzger showed us a clip from an Egyptian newscast about how the Coptic Christians in Egypt were openly praying for and forgiving the terrorists who bombed their churches and killed 45 people at Easter time. The power of forgiveness completely overwhelmed the national broadcaster and he said that the Christians’ forgiveness was something that he could not do. He is correct. We cannot forgive, but Christ in us can. The power of forgiveness transforms us and helps us understand the profound love the Lord has for each one of us. Chris Tomlin’s song lyrics ring true:
I'm forgiven because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, you were condemned
I'm alive and well
Your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again
Amazing love, how can it be?
That you, my king. would die for me
Amazing love, I know it's true
Its my joy to honor you
Amazing love how can it be?
That my king would die for me
Amazing love I know it's true
It’s my joy to honor you
In all I do
I honor you

The name Shiloh means "place of peace." For women experiencing the pain of infertility or loss, nothing may be more needed than peace, rest, support, and understanding. Join us on the last Wednesday of each month at 7pm in Room 117 on the lower level. The lower level doors will be unlocked, and you will be greeted with tea, snacks, and a place of peace. email@example.com
Group Life At Huron Hills
Get connected and grow! There are groups every day of the week! Sunday Adult Bible Classes, Home Groups, Midweek Bible Studies, and you could start a group too! Check out the table in the lobby to sign up for classes and learn more! GroupLife@huronhills.org.
- The Word Sunday Class—9:30am, Room 217
The Word is a class for adults focused on in-depth Bible study. We meet to savor the beauty of Scripture and seek its meaning for our present day. The current study is on Job.
- Bridges Sunday Class—11:00am, Room 217
We gear the class toward international students but anyone is welcome. We are studying The Gospel of Mark. Teachers are Ryan Nelson, Rich Steiner and Peter Talbot.
Highly Caffeinated Church
We're a church that enjoys our coffee and tea! Our amazing Coffee Team can always use additional volunteers to help prepare coffee, which—let's face it—goes a long way towards getting people ready to worship in the morning! Contact Jane Talbot to get involved (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We also use ceramic mugs for our beverages in an effort to reject the "single use" mentality that is doing harm to God's created world. We encourage you to bring your own favorite mug or tumbler when you come on Sundays. If you forget - no problem. Feel free to use one of our logo mugs and leave it here to be washed.
Volunteers Needed for HHKids
We need a host to check in families on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 9:30. You'll receive training. This is an important ministry to welcome new families and greet our regulars! This summer, especially with the renovation, we are in need of volunteers, as our regular teacher take a well deserved break. Please sign up in the lobbies or online: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090d4baba82faaf49-hhkids1
The theme for the summer is Gadgets and Gizmos- we are uniquely wired and wonderfully made. We will be exploring the theme of creativity: imagining what you could do because you're made in God's image. Our Memory Verse for June comes from Psalm 139:14. How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that (NIrV).
The theme for June and July is "Kids Rock" and the children will be hearing stories of kids in the bible (Jesus at the temple, Samuel, and David). The bottom line is "I can do what God wants me to do", and the verse is “God made us to do good works.” Ephesians 2:10, NCV.
Be sure to check out our renovation plans in the lobby and lower level. Thanks for your flexibility this summer as we begin renewing the space for our families!
Parents, mark your calendar for the next Date Night Saturday June 24, 6–8pm! This outdoor- themed event is a fundraiser for the HHYouth Mexico team. RSVP email@example.com by June 18.
There are weekly email updates sent out for HS and MS parents. If you're not on the list but would like to be, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get added. Any and all questions are welcome! The youth team can be emailed at email@example.com, or you can talk to us in person! Feel free to contact Kristin Wagner (firstname.lastname@example.org) for HHYouth HS events and Liam Branton (email@example.com) for HHYouth MS events. If you would like to be added to Mid-high email list, please contact Liam Branton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
