Please pray for those among us who are brokenhearted, suffering loss, lonely, anxious, frightened, lost. Ask for them to know the presence of Christ and feel safe in His arms.
- Psalm 34:18—The Lord is close to thebrokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
- 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4—Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
- Revelation 21:4—He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Amen.
Come Meet the Board after each service in July. Board members will be in the lobby each Sunday after the service to hear your comments and answer your questions. If you can't join us in person, send us an email at email@example.com.
Reaching Out to Homeless Families
Four times a year HHC serves as the host congregation at Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) at Alpha House. The mission of IHN is to provide food, shelter and comprehensive services in a caring atmosphere of dignity and safety for the homeless families of Washtenaw County. The goal is to support the families in securing and maintaining their own home.
You can extend the love of Christ to these families by volunteering to provide supplies, prepare and serve meals, participate in the children’s activity time or stay overnight. Our next host week is Monday, July 17–Friday, July 21. Join hands with others at HHC to serve those in need. Look for the sign up board in the foyer of HHC or contact Margaret Gaugler for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org. Additional information about IHN can be found on their web site at www.alphahouse-ihn.org.
Summer iZosh Micro Event
Wednesday, July 19 from 7–8pm at the Huron Hills Lodge. Please join us at an informal gathering focused on funding micro-loans for women in extreme poverty! There won't be a speaker or book discussion; this "micro" Event is all about funding loans in real time. Bring a laptop or tablet to fund loans alongside other iZōsh members. Or just bring yourself: if you can't contribute, you can still participate by spending iZōsh money—we have more than $1,300 in Kiva credit to spend!
We'll meet at the Lodge, just up the hill from Huron Hills Church. (It's close enough to park at Huron Hills and then walk.) And, true to iZōsh, there will be chocolate.
Bring a girlfriend (or three)! This is a great introduction to iZōsh for those women friends who never seem to be available on Friday nights.
Women can get more info and RSVP to the Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/835893656561083
Welcome Baby Iris!
Please join us in celebrating new HHKids staff members Matt and Kristen Hamilton's latest arrival, Iris Maria. Iris was born on May 27th. Consider blessing the family with a meal. https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/3l6rv8 (or contact email@example.com)
From the Board Chair
The church has been engaged in seeking two staff members for HHC. As announced, the Church Board is pleased to welcome Kurt Heinold as the full time Community Life Director at HHC (initially posted as an associate pastor position). Throughout the month of July, Kurt will be in the Welcome Center after each service so you can meet and talk with him. In addition, Advisory Search Team members (David Baldrige, Gary Court, Julie Esch, Melodie Marske, Eric Svaan,) and Board members will be available in the Welcome Center and lobby for discussion.
Please continue to pray for our open Youth Pastor position. We initially thought that the Youth Pastor opening would be much quicker to fill. Unfortunately, it is taking much longer than anticipated. We share the sense of urgency that the volunteer youth leadership team, parents and youth have expressed about filling this important vacancy. The members of the Youth Pastor Advisory Search Team are: Chris Christian, Cathy Galura, Marcy Hires, Michael Hoffman, and Kurtis Rosen. If you have suggestions for possible candidates, please contact any of the team members or Nathan.

If you would like to receive prayer requests by email, please send an email to Allison Zehnder at firstname.lastname@example.org asking to be added to this group. If you would like to request prayer - please send your prayer requests to Allison as well. Allison will then forward your request to the group. Questions about this? Please contact Carol Springer at email@example.com.
Shiloh (new day and time!)
The name Shiloh means "place of peace." For women experiencing the pain of infertility or loss, nothing may be more needed than peace, rest, support, and understanding. Join us on the last Wednesday of each month at 7pm in Room 117 on the lower level. The lower level doors will be unlocked, and you will be greeted with tea, snacks, and a place of peace. firstname.lastname@example.org

The theme for the summer is Gadgets and Gizmos- we are uniquely wired and wonderfully made. This month, we take a closer look at the idea of uniqueness—discovering who God made you to be so you can make a difference. Our Memory Verse for July is Ephesians 2:10: We are God’s creation. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good works. Long ago God prepared these works for us to do. (NIrV)
The theme for June and July is "Kids Rock" and the children will be hearing stories of kids in the bible (Jesus at the temple, Samuel, and David). The bottom line is "I can do what God wants me to do", and the verse is “God made us to do good works.” Ephesians 2:10, NCV.
Be sure to check out our renovation plans in the lobby and lower level. Thanks for your flexibility this summer as we begin renewing the space for our families!
